CEIT-Ik4 is launching an ambitious project, jointly with the University of Navarra, consisting of a technological innovation centre – state-of-the-art in Europe – in order to generate radical improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses.
70 persons are working on the project, which will begin in 2011. To this end, a building will be erected at the Pamplona campus and which will occupy 4,000 square metres.
Researchers will be distributed between the university campuses of Donostia-San Sebastian and Pamplona, progressively increasing the research team and resources – to reach 244 persons in 8 years.
The bioengineering centre will have five lines of research: tissue engineering for cell therapy, biomems (intelligent implants), biorobotics, image technology and bioinformatics.
