Backing up gigabytes of information through Internet now possible

At the beginning of 2004, the Gipuzkoa based company, Diana Teknologia, launched a new product within its DIB BACKUP REMOTE- enabling back-up copies of the company's data (PCs, laptops and servers) over the Internet.

Rising concerns about data security and confidentiality and about compliance with LOPD have generated both interest and misgivings amongst many companies, particularly when the data reside outside the company premises.

DIB BACKUP REMOTO has been conceived to solve one of the main security issues as a fastand reliable application:

- Secure, automatic and preprogrammed transfer of information

- Remote storage of encrypted data available to the user at all times/at any time

Original and innovative technology

This product is supported by DIB TECHNOLOGY ( file differentiation software) and allows users to obtain remote copies of large amounts of information through limited channel consumption. This is made possible because only the binary increment of the data is transmitted. Consequently, the size of the information to be backed up becomes irrelevant.

For the last three years, Diana Tecnología has been developing DIB technology and, as a result, a series of products dedicated to remote information transmission are available:

- Dib Com: Synchronizing remote information.

- Dib update: Distribution of digital content updates.

- Dib software update: Distribution of software updates.

Technical characteristics of products based on DIB technology:

DIB products run multiplatform and interplatform: Windows, Linux, Solaris, Aix, or any other Unix platform.

These products use satandard communication protocols, such as http, ftp, e-mail and sftp.

User interfaces are available in Basque, Spanish and English.
